Patiots Hall of Fame

Patriots Hall of Fame

With all of the state of the art interactive displays in the new Patriots Hall of Fame at Patriot Place, it's likely no one will notice the Black K-13 application overhead. Arrowstreet Architects once again utilized K-13 to provide a dramatic blackout effect while providing Noise Reduction Coefficients of 1.05 without ever being seen. This is one of 4 applications that will be highlighted in a Project Profile from the new Patriots Facility.

Following our K-13 application at Gillette Stadium, our second profile spotlights this beautiful new stadium for the University of Connecticut. Applied below the luxury suites and the enclosed portion of the stadium, the application of 2.4" of K-13 Tan provided an R-Value of 11 and a Noise Reduction Coefficient of 1.05. Tested and approved over fireproofing, the K-13 was carried over some of the structural steel members for aesthetic purposes.

In Springfield Massachusetts, home of the new Basketball Hall of Fame, K-13 is on display along with the best basketball players in the world. Utilized in all its aspects, K-13 was applied in three separate applications for three separate purposes. Villanova

The Villanova Arena

Completed in under 10 days! With a full event schedule, including basketball and concerts, improving the acoustics had to be done between bookings. Over the past several years, Villanova University realized they were losing revenues due to poor acoustics in their pavilion when it came to musical shows. The application of 1" K-13 tan provided a Noise Reduction Coefficient of .75 and drastically reduced the reverberation.

Gillette Stadium

Touchdown! 1.5 million board feet of Tan K-13 is nearing completion at the new Gillette Stadium in Foxboro Massachusetts. Utilized for thermal and acoustical performance, K-13 was applied at the field and concourse levels to insulate the offices below, and above the luxury suites for sound control and heat loss. Applied at 4", providing an R-Value of 19, K-13 provides a monolithic coating of high performance insulation for a fraction of the cost of rigid board or fiberglass batts and mechanical fasteners.

UMaine

University of Maine at Gorham

This state of the art hockey arena at the University of Maine in Gorham made the choice to use K-13 to control condensation and acoustical performance. Selecting K-13 during the planning stages, as opposed to retrofitting the product as many such facilities have done, reduced the installed costs dramatically. With two rinks for the state of Maine already retrofitted with K-13, this application was completed during the course of construction in less than two weeks.
