Flame
Spread of 5, Smoke Development of 5, Class "A"
Noncombustible K-13 gets tapped for the below
grade garage at the new Fan Pier Development.
With the rapid rise of expandable foam products,
which carry Smoke Development figures of over
450 and concerns of Flame Spread, K-13 stands
alone. Providing matching R-values, along with
higher durability and superior aesthetics, K-13
does not require expensive and unproven fire delay
coatings.

Blue
Cross and Blue Shield insured they would not have
cold floors in their new Providence Rhode Island
Headquarters by utilizing K-13. Applied at 4.04"
in Light Grey to match cementitious fireproofing,
the K-13 is providing a monolithic coating of
R-19. K-13 (Ure-K0 was also utilized in the exterior
walls over foam to provide the required 15 minute
ignition delay.

Trapello
Road Office Building
You
don't see this type of application often, but
when your tenants are #1, you do what you have
to. This application of K-13 is applied in a parking
structure with no building above. Due to the temperature
difference generated from the cars in this unheated
garage, extreme condensation was forming on the
fluted metal deck and dripping constantly on the
cars below. K-13 applied at 1.5" has moved
the dew point off the metal surface, and the condensation
issue is now a thing of the past.

Back
in the garage for the Patriots. Over 500,000 board
feet of K-13 Tan was applied in under 6 weeks
offering tremendous value engineering along with
monolithic thermal performance. K-13 is a class
"A" noncombustible and does not require
additional fire coatings to remain exposed. A
recent car fire at the Providence Place Mall Parking
Garage left the fire department commenting that
the K-13 has out performed the cementitious fireproofing
that was in place.

Fire Station
Another
retro-fit application of K-13 is installed. With
the recently completed new construction of the
Norwood Fire Station, it became evident very quickly
there was a problem. The offices along with the
overnight quarters of the fire fighters were above
the uninsulated deck of the apparatus room. With
floor temperatures well below comfort levels,
Norian/Siani Engineering specified K-13 applied
at 2.34", R-11, to be installed. Completed
in less than 10 days, the fire fighters can now
rest comfortably while waiting for the alarm to
ring.

600,000
board feet of K-13 Light Grey is protecting the
visitors at the new Westin hotel at the Boston
Convention Center in Boston Massachusetts. The
K-13, applied at 4.04", R-19, in the loading
docks and parking garage levels, also enhances
the Noise Reduction Coefficient to conference
spaces above. The Westin Hotel in Providence Rhode
Island is currently receiving a similar treatment
on two levels above the retail and parking levels.

local bird population to realize the rigid board
provided ideal nesting material. The k-13 application,
completed over a year ago, has a bond strength
of over 350 psf. The birds are now looking for
new housing.

700,000
board feet! This beautiful new hockey arena at
Boston University, in conjunction with Cannon
Design, taps K-13 for the thermal insulation in
the massive below structure parking area. Applied
in Light Grey to coincide with the cementitious
fireproofing, the application offers a uniform
continuous appearance. Completed in under 100
days, the monolithic coating will provide high
performance thermal insulation without costly
maintenance for years to come.

Brookline
Courtyard Marriott Hotel
This
is not the first Marriott to use K-13 in a below
grade parking area and is will not be the last.
Nothing is more important than the comfort of
your guests when you are in the hotel business.
Applied at 4.04", R-Value of 19, the application
of K-13 Light Gray is competitive with drop ceilings
and fiberglass batts, but that is where the similarities
end. The monolithic coating of high performance
insulation controls condensation without the inherent
R-Value reduction of fiberglass insulation.

A
drop ceiling with fiberglass batts atop may provide
a degree of higher aesthetics, but when it comes
to thermal performance this application of 3"
of K-13 Spray-On Insulation can not be beat. NO
moisture problems, NO cold floor complaints, NO
gaps in the insulation from maintenance workers
not replacing the fiberglass, and total access
to all through floor mechanicals. K-13 not only
offers improved performance in this problem area,
but the installed costs are less! K-13 Spray-On
Insulation is clearly the choice for below structure
parking areas.

this 1,000 car parking garage that spans the entire
underside of the structure. Applied at a thickness
of 3" providing an R-Value of 14, the monolithic
application keeps the exhibit hall and restaurant
level floors warm for all visitors. Sona-Spray
"fc" was also applied in additional
areas as an interior aesthetic coating.

Courtyard Marriott Hotel
Dot
the I's and clean the T's were the instructions
at this new Marriott Hotel in Providence Rhode
Island. K-13 Tan was applied at a minimum of 3"
to achieve an R-Value of 13. The architect utilized
the material to maximize head room and minimize
heat loss. This reduced application of K-13 offered
sizable cost savings over dropped ceilings with
fiberglass batts, along with the benefits of a
monolithic insulation between the precast concrete.

Westborough
Office Building
Warm
floors are guaranteed at this new office building
in Westborough Massachusetts. Light Gray K-13
applied at a minimum of 4.2, R-Value of
19 will be the insurance. This economical but
effective application of K-13 in below deck parking
areas has quickly become one of the most popular
techniques of insuring a monolithic blanket of
insulation along with a no maintenance finish
ceiling. With over 5 million board feet of product
installed in parking garages in the New England
area someone has been paying attention.

million board feet of K-13! With this recently
completed application, Foxwoods Casino has utilized
all the benefits K-13 can provide. From acoustical
performance to thermal insulation, K-13 has proven
to be the material of choice at the Foxwoods Casino
in these difficult and most times problem areas.
Applications have ranged from 1.5", N.R.C.
rating of 1.05 in the Main Showroom Concert Hall,
2" Tan between floors in the hotel for sound
and condensation control, and thermal insulation
on 4.19", R-19, in the below grade parking
